Could be its a spyder nobody (correct me if I'm wrong) likes Spyder or use it as a primary marker for that reason
Hey all, it's my first time on pbriot, and i'd like to get some thought on my problem. I have a spyder fenix 2012, that's new and i've only played 2 times with it. The first time, it chopped a ton of paint. I was using Karnage burn that day. I sent it in to spyder for a warranty, and they said the trigger touchswitch was defective. I played with it another time, after they sent it back to me, and it still chopped a TON of paint.
Now i know that spyder said they fixed my gun, but i don't think they did. The second time, i was using karnage burn as well, so it actually might be my paint thats crappy. What better paint is there for around the same price of karnage burn? And has anyone else with a spyder fenix shot karnage burn, having the same chopping problems with their gun? If so, please tell me so i know it's not just me. Just overall, whats a really good paint for spyder, thats not too expensive?

Not much info on Karnage paint out there, only a few reviews on pbnation, but not for the Burn. What was mentioned in said reveiws about burn wasn't very good...
A) After breaks check your barrel. If the paint is not concentrated near the threads on your barrel, it was a barrel break and not a chop. The culprit there is bad paint/bore match most of the time, though bad paint will break even with a proper fitting bore.
B) If it is in fact chopping, make sure you don't have any sharp edges on your bolt, or something else nasty lurking in the chamber.
C) Buy some quality paint that fits your barrel and try again. I suspect this will solve most of your problems.

Well both times, i took my eyes out at lunch, and they were just soaked in paint. The entire breech was covered too. Also the barrel was as well, so it was everywhere. And i'm using an electric hopper.

If it's a force feed hopper and you are using low-quality paint, it could be crushing them in the stack. The best problem solving tip right now is to try a different, well known type of paint and see if that makes a difference. Beyond that: Make sure bolt doesn't have rough, sharp edges; turn down tension on hopper stack; make sure you aren't shooting 350+ FPS; make sure you are using an anti-siphon tank for CO2 if you aren't already using compressed air; inspect the feed neck and chamber for places that could be cutting the paint shells.

I was playing with a guy who had a fenix, shooting DXS paint, tons of breaks. his barrel was coated every other game I might have found the paint you were using http://karnagepaintballs.com/

I know of Karnage paint (used it once or twice) its a low/mid-grade paint in my opinion (despite having some apparently high end paint), so that could result in some chops... I'd recommend trying a higher quality paintball, from a company that is more founded. IF you still have the problem.. you might want to take a loook at your marker. BUT changing the paint should help. Spend the cash one day, get a nice quality paintball, send it through and see if there is a problem. IF not look for different paint around the same price as karnage, but just change the company.
I'm an artist, paintball is my medium, and the other team is my canvas.

I use compressed air, my bolt is smooth with no rough edges. My hopper is a dxs pulse, at 20bps. And also, as a43 said, what kind of draxxus paint was the guy using the fenix shooting? the yellow basic training ones?

I've heard of karnage, but It wasn't regarded well..
yeah, the basic training, (that stuff shoots like lasers out of my A-5) but I have used that in a PMI 3 and not have problems the time I used it( for about 3 cases )
Long story short try other paint, find what works, if nothing else works, its the gun.

Well that's the entire point of why i created this thread! lol. I wanted to know what good paints everyone recommends.

Can you only use field paint? If so what options do you have? If you can bring paint, I'm personally a fan of Graffiti. It has treated me well at every local tournament so far. http://www.hustlepaintball.com/Valke...ll-Yellow-Fill

I'm not sure how that helps him but OK...
Here's my inebriated two cents... your Fenix is the opposite of gentle on paint so you should buy something a little more hearty. Like Sacky Souls said above me, it all depends on what is available to you. We can all recommend the best paints evAR, but without knowing your options it's kind of a shot in the dark.
Well my field lets me bring paint. I usually buy it from a local proshop

BYOP fields can be hard to find lately because of cost covering.
so yeah find paint that works and stick with it!
I personally recommend all DXS paint. works good, have had some flat ones every once and a while. but that can be expected for anything less than 50$.
and Midnight paintballs from Diablo
