If you're happy w/ your barrel currently, I wouldn't worry about upgrading it - I'd recommend getting rid of CO2 and upgrading to HPA, if it's available in your area.
The Proto 14" barrel isn't the best one ever made, but it's definitely decent.
QFT - Aside from my personal preferences of Pathogen, Lapco, Deadlywind & Shaft Barrels. After getting a 14" barrel unless you play religiously, bore your paint and buy the same quality paint every time; it will be hard to see or feel a difference in the barrel performance.

Since I got an iFit kit. I don't worry about barrels now.
BUT....the Pathogen is one sweet looking barrel!

I've had a good experience with the lapco bigshot assault barrel.
Ifit allows me to bore match my paint. But not have to buy a whole new barrel. Basically I don't need a new barrel for each of my markers that are not threaded the same. I can just get an adapter to fit that barrel.
I now can bore match with all my markers using stock barrels. Pretty easy than just buying a single barrel for a single marker. For a single size of paint.
A bore matching kit gives you the best of both worlds. Match to any size paint.....with any overbored barrel.
