dogs for the win.... cats cant pull a sled, or fetch a duck. i grew up with at least 2 dogs in the house, over the years we had 3 hounds, 2 muts, and a black lab. that and, you know, sense i was 10 ive been doing guided tour with dog sledding. the guy i worked for had 150 huskies at one point

I've had both, prefer cats. They aren't a very good emergency food source (tho i threaten mine anyway), they stay out of the way and do their own thing when they aren't laying on my chest at night trying to suck out my soul. It's also fun to watch them chase my laser sight around the house.
