And odd chain of events.

Over the past few days, there have been a series of posts here on the Riot that have set me to thinking, and in some cases, asking, "WTH?"
The first thing: Women and paintball.
Now, women are a rarity, there's no getting by this. I can't say whether or not this is changing, but the amount I see on the rare occasions I get out are comforting.
I've introduced a couple to paintball, and both of them, once they got the first hit, both went crazy over it.
But this brings me to the...well, darker side of women and paintball. The use of cheesecake and paintball markers (much like firearms) just leaves me sitting there with a vexed expression on my face, and a lingering bad taste in my mouth.
There's no doubt that sex sells, and sells well. But using scantily clad women to sell a very dangerous "toy" just...bleh.
Let's get real here kids, half the time I don't even know I'm on the field with a woman until the game is OVER. Padding, jerseys, masks, these things won't tell you that there's a member of the fairer sex out there. Unless it's a newbie wearing jeans and a t-shirt, I don't know.
And that is a good thing. While rare, they aren't some kind of thing to be jumped on and protected (which I have seen). They're there to play, just like us.
Religion and paintball. I don't really know where this came from, don't really care, but I'm wondering why this is an issue. Most fields are open on the weekends, when most people are off. It's the same way with most tourneys. It's simple numbers until the summer hits, and even then it's kind of iffy.
Stop selling markers. I can't afford them right now! Bastages...
